Challenge

The technology supplier BOE asked to design their first ever consumer product. We were given a free hand with the aim of combining premium quality and minimalism to create an extraordinary lifestyle product and transform a technical device into a furnishing object.

Result

Together with a great team at Lunar Europe, an award-winning TV has been created.

We supported the Chinese brand BOE in designing their first consumer product- from the first sketch until the final product launch in Early 2015.

The uncompromising and innovative design of two interlocking volumes combined with the simplicity of a single cable and the sleek screen creates a distinctive and elegant appearance, a timeless piece of design.

As an Industrial Designer, I accompanied the project from the initial design phase to product implementation, including design research, model building and implementation support as well as packaging design. Close cooperation with the experts on the customer side and regular visits of the model makers and suppliers in China were crucial to maintain the original design idea throughout the development process and to bring the product with all its unique details to the market.
